Baby Talk! - Young Parents Baby Parenting Seminar 2009

New mums and dads enjoyed an afternoon of sharing at the Young Parents BabyParenting Seminar.

Is TCM safe for pregnant mums? Should I wash my hair during confinement? Some 150 mums and dads found the answers to these questions and more at the inaugural Young Parents Baby Parenting Seminar held on February 21.

Rehana Wahid, a clinical dietician with Parkway Hospitals, shared her tips on the best diet for expectant mums, while consultant paediatrician Dr Warren Lee explained what normal growth patterns look like.

Dr Andrew Wu from Cordlife took the audience through the process of cord blood banking, and Dr Christopher Chong, a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, addressed common concerns about pregnancy.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was when Michelle Wee, an occupational therapist, demonstrated simple exercises that mums could do before and after pregnancy.

During the break, participants made a beeline for our partners’ booths – including Wyeth Pharmaceutical, Wyeth Nutrition, Cordlife and Parkway Health. They also picked up exclusive subscription offers from Young Parents publications, and everyone went home with a fabulous goodie bag.
